“Mobilize To Thrive” is the 2022 theme for the nationally recognized HIV Long-Term Survivors Awareness Day (#HLTSAD). Health Connections Inc. (HCI) and Black Health Coalition of Wisconsin (BHCW) are joining forces to host an evening to honor the long-term survivors of the HIV/AIDS epidemic; reflect on the last 41 years of the HIV/AIDS pandemic; and raise awareness of their needs, issues, and journey. We will conclude with a call to action to prioritize and improve the quality of life for long-term survivors and older adults who are living with HIV for 25 years or more. Health Connections Inc. is a healthcare firm that provides vulnerable populations clinical care, disease prevention and interventions - especially in the areas of Primary Care, HIV and Transgender Health. HCI’s overarching goal is to promote and achieve healthcare access and health equity for everyone, through our direct health care service offerings - with a special focus on HIV care, treatment and prevention. The Black Health Coalition of Wisconsin Inc.’s mission is to address the health problems of African Americans and thereby ensure equitable and comprehensive healthcare for all people. BHCW hosts the Statewide African American HIV/STI Task Force (AATF) where Community Leaders and HIV/STI Consumers jointly create solutions to the issues of HIV and STIs in communities of color in the state of Wisconsin. The June 20th event is actually a special AATF Meeting to which each of you are invited! How can you help?
