Cancer Can Kill You, But It Doesn't Have To!

Getting screened if you are above the age of 45 is important, regardless if you are showing symptoms. Additionally, if you are under 45 and display symptoms, routine screening for Colorectal Cancer (CRC) and Prostate Cancer directly impacts the number of long-term survivors.

Join us for an impactful and energizing community event that brings generations together through health, movement, and connection. The 4th Annual Intergenerational Health Fair & Charity Basketball Game is more than a game—it’s a call to action to protect our health and save lives through awareness and early detection.
This year’s event focuses on colorectal and prostate cancer awareness, two conditions that disproportionately impact our communities but are highly treatable when caught early.

Why This Event Matters
Colorectal cancer is the second leading cause of cancer-related deaths in Wisconsin among men and women combined. Prostate cancer is the most frequently diagnosed cancer among Wisconsin men, accounting for roughly 25 percent of all new cancer diagnoses.
These statistics are real, but so is the power of prevention. Cancer can kill you—but it doesn’t have to. Getting screened saves lives.

What to Expect
This family-friendly event offers something for everyone:
  • Charity basketball game featuring intergenerational players
  • Free health screenings and cancer education
  • Live DJ and dance team performances
  • Food vendors and community resources
  • Health and wellness information for all ages

Whether you come for the game, the screenings, or the community vibe, you’ll leave empowered with knowledge and support.

Don't ignore the symptoms of CRC and Prostate Cancer:

We can decrease colorectal and prostate cancer in Wisconsin.  Screening can detect cancer and catch it at the earliest possible stage, thereby improving the success of treatment and reducing mortality from the disease.

Common symptoms for CRC :
  • Change in 💩 habits
  • Blood during bowel movement
  • Diarrhea or constipation
  • Feeling that the bowel does not empty all the way
  • Abdominal pain, aches, or cramps that don't go away
  • Having weight loss and you don't know why
  • Difficulty starting urination
  • Weak or interrupted urine flow
  • Urinating often, especially at night
  • Trouble emptying the bladder completely
  • Pain or burning during urination
  • Blood in the urine or semen
  • Pain in the back, hips, or pelvis that doesn’t go away
  • Painful ejaculation
